CCBADC TO OFFER LICENSED ADVANCED ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELOR: "LAADC"
The California Certification Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (*CCBADC) has resolved to tackle the integration of the federal Affordable Care Act of 2010 and the continued public protection issue that remains in California due to the lack of current state issued licensure.
As you may know, for more than two decades, CAADAC and CCBADC has advocated for state licensure of this caliber. The certification board is proud to announce the offering of this new non-governmental issued *license.
This license was designed to align with national/international standards of competency as developed by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC.) [For more information on the minimum standards for the IC&RC reciprocal credential requirements for the Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor” (AADC) requirements please visit www.internationalcredentialing.org.]
These **licenses include, but are not limited to, a master’s degree requirement, reciprocity and grand-parenting provisions. Additionally, this license was designed to align with previous legislation submitted to the California legislature last year.
In adherence to IC&RC Credentialing requirements CCBADC will open a 90 day grand-parenting period beginning on February 1st, 2011 and close on April 30th, 2011.
The required requirements below this notice. Fees and application forms will be posted on the CAADAC website prior to the opening of the grandparenting period.
For questions or comments please email counselor@caadac.org.
*CCBADC is the autonomous authority to offer credentials, standards and requirements for CAADAC.
*These non-governmental licenses do not imply or allow the individual holder to diagnose as specified under applicable state or federal law. These licenses are not issued or mandated by state or federal law.
